Therapy May Support Individuals to:

  • Understand the cycle of panic and anxiety

  • Learn strategies to manage physical symptoms of panic

  • Reduce fear and avoidance of triggering situations

  • Build confidence in coping with distress

  • Re-engage with activities that have been avoided

  • Develop tools to regulate breathing, thoughts and emotion

The ISN Clinic offers assessment services and provides diagnosis, assessment and intervention plans for free or low cost

Panic disorder involves repeated and unexpected panic attacks — sudden episodes of intense fear or discomfort accompanied by physical symptoms such as a racing heart, breathlessness, dizziness or nausea. Many individuals also experience anticipatory anxiety or avoid places and situations where they fear a panic attack may occur.

Therapy is adapted to the needs and pace of the individual and may involve skill-building to improve daily functioning, reduce anxiety, and regain confidence in feared situations.
